Mount Nebo is about 23 miles west of Amman, Jordan. When one is traveling from Amman to Israel, it is a steep climb up the mountain. I have stood on Mount Nebo and panned the area; it is amazing how all the land looks barren. When one looks over into the Jordan RiftValley and then turns 180 degrees, one wonders what is different. The terrain looks no different in all the directions you look. On a clear day one can see Jericho (Yericho), Jerusalem (Yerusalem) and the north shore of the Dead Sea. By the way…the Hebrew language has no J! Standing on the mountain it is easy to see all the destinations that lay ahead.
