Free Tax Help From VITA in Spring City — Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance (VITA) will provide free tax help to the elderly, handicapped and low income every Friday
until April 4 at the old SouthEast Bank building in Spring City, between 1 and 5 p.m. Those
interested are asked to bring a copy of last year’s tax return, all W-2 forms and other pertinent

Graysville Children’s Valentine Dance (2/8) — Graysville Parks Board will host a
Children’s Valentine Dance on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the park’s community building.
Children 12 and under are invited to come and enjoy light refreshments, dance competitions, song

Holloway Benefit (2/8) — A benefit for the late Alma Holloway will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, from 3
to 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Spring CIty United Methodist Church. The benefit will include
an auction, a Boston butt dinner plate sale, a bake sale and music from Texas Grove Baptist Church,
Jim and Edna Miller, Drake Taylor and George Thacker and his harmonica. Proceeds will go
towards paying Alam Holloway’s medical and funeral expenses. Donations for the benefit are
being accepted at Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City.
Watts Bar Yacht Club Recruitment
Meeting (2/8) — The Watts Bar Yacht Club will host a member recruitment meeting on Saturday, Feb. 8,
at our clubroom at Whites Creek Marina, located 1190 Whites Creek Road (off of Hwy27,) north of

Daughters of the American Revolution Meeting (2/13) — The Rhea-Craig
chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Thursday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m. in the

Dayton Lions Club Meeting (2/13) — The Dayton Lions Club will meet on Thursday,

Free Beekeeping Short Course (2/15) — A course designed for those
interested in learning to keep honeybees will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Calvary Baptist
Church, located at 205 Mill Road in Wartburg, Tenn., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class

Graysville Senior Valentine’s Dance & Party (2/15) — Graysville Parks Board

— ArtCrafters on Market Street in Dayton, will host the Spring Field of Flowers tissue paper

Spring City American Legion Post 203 Meeting (2/20) — Spring City American
Legion Post 203 will have their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 20, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Fly-In, Drive-In Breakfast (2/22) — The Civil Air
Patrol will host a breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mark Anton Municipal Airport on Saturday, Feb.
22. The all-you-can-eat cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The event will be held
rain or shine.

Benefit Pancake Breakfast (2/22) — Fraizer Fire
Hall will be host a benefit pancake breakfast for Ray Roberts on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 7
a.m. to 11 a.m. Proceeds will go to the Roberts family to help with expenses.
