Among a lot of firsts that happened along the way for a first-year bowling program, Rhea County High School junior Lady Eagle bowler Hannah Crespo competed in the state bowling tournament on Thursday in Smyrna, Tenn., but came up a little short of a championship.
Crespo qualified individually for the state tourney a couple weeks ago because her season average of 155.65 placed her in the top four scoring averages of the district.
The state tournament’s round one of competition involved taking the best averages in four games bowled and narrowing down 90 participants to 24. From there, the field went to six.
