Haslam proposes ephedrine restriction bill as cities consider own solution to meth problem

After municipalities across the state began passing ordinances that require a prescription for the meth ingredient and cold medicine ephedrine, Gov. Bill Haslam announced last week a proposal that could help cities in fight against meth manufacturing. While Spring City successfully passed an ordinance requiring a prescription for ephedrine-containing products, Dayton officials opted to wait until the state considered the issue before moving forward.
