The Rhea County High School Eagles' football team appeared to
be in for a fight on Friday evening as the Warren County Pioneers held the high-powered Rhea offense
to a 0-0 tie after the first quarter.
The Eagles quickly shook off any false notions of an
upset, as they scored 31 points in the second quarter, with Rhea's Dimitrius Patterson breaking the
ice with an 82-yard touchdown catch from Eagle quarterback Austin Dotson on the first play of the
Patterson landed in the end zone three times on the night, while Jacob York
and Taylor Jenkins crossed the goal line as well to conclude the Eagles touchdown list. Rhea kicker
Wyatt Maerki made two field goals and was 5-for-5 on extra points made.
The Eagles improve to
7-1 and 4-0 in District 6-AAA on the season.
