Spring City Lions Club Meeting — The
Spring City Lions Club will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the City
Alhambra Shrine Circus (10/12 & 13) — The Alhambra Shrine Circus will be at
Camp Jordan Arena in East Ridge, Tenn. Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13. Proceeds
benefit the Alhambra Shrine.
Harvest of Art Show and Sale (10/ 12) — The Dayton Arts
League will hold their annual ”Harvest of Art” show and sale of newly created artwork on
Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rhea County Welcome Center, located at 107
Main Street in Dayton. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. For more

Fall Craft Fair in Spring City (10/12) — The
2013 Fall Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the
Spring City Depot. Artists, crafters and food vendors will be on hand for this day of family

Benefit Poker Run (10/12) — A benefit
poker run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Minner Hole Lounge , located at 12169 Old Dayton
Pike in Soddy Daisy, Tenn. The $20 per bike poker run will benefit the Soddy Daisy Health Care
and Life Care Center of Rhea County nursing homes. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and
“kickstands up” will be at 11 a.m. Fish plates will be sold for $5 and a raffle will be

North Hamilton County
Elementary Fall Festival (10/12) — North Hamilton County Elementary School (NHCE) in Sale
Creek, Tenn. will host a fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival
will include hay rides, face painting, games, vendors and lots more.
Wilkey Memorial Service
(10/12) — A Wilkey Memorial Service will be held at the Rhea County Fairgrounds on Saturday,
Oct. 12, beginning at 1 p.m. with a covered dish lunch. All Wilkeys are
Laurelbrook Fire Department Open House (10/13) — The Laurelbrook Fire
Department, located at 5175 Ogden Road on Dayton Mountain, will hold an Open House on Sunday, Oct.
13, from 1 to 6 p.m. in recognition of Fire Prevention Week. The open house will include a
special appearance by “Flash the Fire Dog,” a door prize forthe first 100 children, free smoke
alarm signups, fire extinguisher demonstrations, refreshments for sale and more.
Spring City American Legion Post 203 Meeting (10/17) — Spring City American Legion
Post 203 will have their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a
covered dish dinner. Post 203 meets on the third Thursday of each month. Call

Cars for a Cure at Life Care Center of Rhea County
(10/20)— Life Care Center of Rhea County, located at 10055 Rhea County Highway in Dayton
will host Cars for a Cure, an open car show to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for
Life. The car show will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry fee is $20

Fly-In, Drive-In Breakfast (10/26) — The Civil Air Patrol will host a
breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mark Anton Municipal Airport on Saturday, Oct. 26. The
all-you-can-eat cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The event will be held rain or
RCHS Class of 1983 Reunion (9/26 & 27) — The Rhea County High School Class
of 1983 will celebrate its 30 year reunion beginning on Friday, Oct. 25. where the 1983 grads will
attend the RCHS football game and sit together. On Saturday, Oct. 26, class members will
gather at The Car Barn in Chattanooga from 6:30 to 11 p.m. For more information on costs,

Memorial Dedication at Cherokee
Removal Park-Blythe Ferry (10/27) — Friends of the Park will host a dedication ceremony on
Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. for a new memorial which lists the 2,000 names, commonly known as the
Henderson Census Roll, of Cherokees forced west. The memorial was constructed in
observance of the 175th Anniversary of the Trail of Tears. A sign on Highway 60 in Meigs
County directs visitors to the park.

— The Clyde W. Roddy Library will offer a basic computer class on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from

Care and Rehabilitation Center Fall Festival will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 6
