Dayton council member questions fishing tourney expenditures

Rhea County has lured another big fishing tournament and a member of the Dayton City Council questioned the balance between economic stimulus through tournaments and the cost of attracting them at a special-called session last week.
The Council met in the called session and approved a $70,000 expenditure to partner with the Rhea County Commission to bring in the BassMaster Elite Tour for an event June 11-15, 2014, as well as other tournaments.
