Skating Party Benefit for American
Cancer Society (8/22) � A skating party will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Crystal Springs
Skating Center from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer
Fly-In, Drive-In Breakfast (8/24) � The Civil Air Patrol will host a breakfast
from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mark Anton Municipal Airport on Saturday, Aug. 24. The all-you-can-eat
cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The event will be held rain or
Pat and Preston Memorial Ride (8/24) � The 2013 Annual Pat and Preston
Memorial Ride, will be held Saturday, Aug. 24. Registration begins 9 a.m. at Bimbo�s Restaurant in
Dayton with kickstands up at 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit �Toys for Children� a Christmas charity.

United Daughters of the
Confederacy Meeting (8/24) � The John Quincy Adams Shaver Chapter of United Daughters of the

Community Children�s and Youth Choir Auditions (8/29) � Auditions
will be held for the Bryan College Community Children�s and Youth Choir on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 4
p.m. in the chorale room of Rudd Auditorium. The Children�s Choir is open to fourth through eighth
graders and the Youth Choir is open to ninth through 12th graders. A $25 per semester fee is
required from participants in both choirs and Youth Choir members are also required to pay a

Daddy-Daughter Dance to Benefit American Cancer Society (8/31)
� A Daddy-Daughter Dane will be held at Spring City Elementary School on Saturday, Aug. 31,
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Early registration cost is $10 and at the door registration cost is $15. To

Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Magicians Meeting (9/5) � The East Tenn. Chapter of
Fellowship of Christian Magicians will hold their regular meeting on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 7 to

Dayton American Legion Post 100 Meeting (9/9) � Dayton American Legion Post
100 will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a

Graysville Fall Festival Pageant Deadline (9/13)
� The deadline for the 2013 Graysville Fall Festival Pageant is Sept. 13. Entries are
$10 per contestant in one of eight categories. The categories are Baby Miss/Mister (0 to 11
months), Toddler Miss/Mister (12 to 23 months), Tot Miss/Mister (24 to 35 months), Wee Miss/Mister
(3 to 4-years-old), Tiny Miss (5 to 6-years-old), Little Miss/Mister (7 to 9-years-old), Young
Miss/Mister (10 to 12-years-old) and Jr. Miss/Mister (13 to 15-years-old). This is a natural
beauty pageant with no make-up, hair extensions or pageant attire allowed. A minimum of
three contestants must be entered in a category for that category to be included in the
pageant. The pageant will be held Friday, Sept. 20, at the Graysville City Hall, located at
136 Harrison Ave., beginning with check-in at 5 p.m. followed by the pageant at 6 p.m. Contact the

Meeting (9/19) � Spring City American Legion Post 203 will have their regular monthly meeting on
Thursday, Sept. 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a covered dish dinner. Post 203 meets on the
