Now that I’ve attended Tennessee 4-H Round-Up, I can easily see why Tennessee’s 4-H program is one of the best 4-H programs in the country. Round-Up is a week long, state wide conference held on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for Tennessee 4-H members. The event recognizes 4-H members on their outstanding project work and leadership accomplishments. 4-H members work hard throughout the school year to create and complete a project portfolio that highlights their project work, citizenship and leadership opportunities. This year, Condra Lea Carter, Abi Newman and myself attended Round-up. Condra Lea Carter competed in the communication project and finished in second place. Abi Newman competed in the Garden/Home Horticulture project and finished in fourth place. I didn’t compete this year but had many opportunities to be involved and created our All-Star exhibit board highlighting our service with our 4-H Relay for Life team.
