Spring City Historical Museum “Dinky Line” Quilt Show (8/5-17) — The Spring City Historical Museum will present the “Dinky Line” Quilt Show through Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Spring City Museum Annex, located at 150 West Rhea Avenue in Spring City. The quilt show will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and free for children.
Benefit for Tommy Reel (8/10) — A benefit for cancer survivor Tommy Reel will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Centennial Park in Dayton. The benefit will include singing, food and an auction. Proceeds will help with medicine and doctor bills.
Senior Citizen Bingo Night in Graysville (8/10) — A Senior Citizen Bingo Night will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, starting at 6 p.m. at the Graysville Community Building. The Graysville Park Board is hosting this event to encourage seniors 50 and older to meet new friends while having fun and winning prizes. Light refreshments will be served. Skating Party Benefit for American Cancer Society (8/22) — A skating party will be held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Crystal Springs Skating Center from 6 to 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Fly-In, Drive-In Breakfast (8/24) — The Civil Air Patrol will host a breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mark Anton Municipal Airport on Saturday, Aug. 24. The all-you-can-eat cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The event will be held rain or shine.
Pat and Preston Memorial Ride (8/24) — The 2013 Annual Pat and Preston Memorial Ride, will be held Saturday, Aug. 24. Registration begins 9 a.m. at Bimbo’s Restaurant in Dayton with kickstands up at 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit “Toys for Children” a Christmas charity. A BBQ lunch will be provided. Graysville Fall Festival Pageant Deadline (9/13) — The deadline for the 2013 Graysville Fall Festival Pageant is Sept. 13. Entries are $10 per contestant in one of eight categories. The categories are Baby Miss/Mister (0 to 11 months), Toddler Miss/Mister (12 to 23 months), Tot Miss/Mister (24 to 35 months), Wee Miss/Mister (3 to 4-years-old), Tiny Miss (5 to 6-years-old), Little Miss/Mister (7 to 9-years-old), Young Miss/Mister (10 to 12-years-old) and Jr. Miss/Mister (13 to 15-years-old). This is a natural beauty pageant with no make-up, hair extensions or pageant attire allowed. A minimum of three contestants must be entered in a category for that category to be included in the pageant.
