Whether the score was 12-1 in touchdown count or 12-2, the fact remains, the Rhea County High School [RCHS] Golden Eagle football team opened up Bill Horton Field for a 7-on-7 competition with Rockwood on Thursday and prevailed by a sizeable margin.
Albeit, the scrimmage-type practice session in shirts, shorts and helmets isn’t the greatest way to gauge a team’s overall readiness for a season after only three days of practice, but first-year head coach Mark Pemberton was pleased with the Eagles’ effort but knows there’s plenty of work to do to fully prepare for the season opener.
