It is a Tuesday afternoon but it is a special Tuesday. It is the last day of the summer session at UTC, the last day of the first college course I have taken since the days when I was single and nobody called me mom.
It is a good day. It is a happy day. After six weeks of attending class every single weekday and then committing to at least two hours of studying each evening, I have just learned that I made an A for the term. With a few keystrokes, I logged onto my account and there it was — a big, beautiful ‘A’ next to “term grade.” So why do I feel like crying right now?
