After seven top ten finishes for the coveted FLW Angler of the
Year Award during his 17-year professional career, Dayton's Andy Morgan claimed the trophy in his
hometown on Friday afternoon at the Dayton Boat Dock, where the FLW Tour season finale began on
Thursday and will finish up Sunday.
Morgan's two-day total weight of bass was 34 pounds and
11 ounces, which was good enough to make the 20-man cut to be able to compete in day three of the
tournament. From there, the pro anglers must make the 10-man cut for Sunday's
championship. Morgan jumped from 22nd to 14th in standings after day two.
Pro Angler making the cut was Michael Neal. Neal improved his standing from 28th after the
first day, to third place heading into day three, thanks to five bass, weighing in at 22 pounds and
14 ounces on Friday, which brought his two-day total to 40 pounds and four ounces.
City's Wesley Strader also made the 20-man cut after hauling in five bass that weighed 20 pounds and
six ounces on day two. Strader jumped from 19th to sixth place in the standings heading into
Saturday's day three.
Weigh-ins for Saturday and Sunday will be held at the Walmart in
Dayton at 4 p.m., following an FLW Expo in the Walmart parking lot from noon until 4
