Rhea County Deputy Administrator of Elections Felicia Mills said on Monday that three city residents have picked up petitions to run for the vacant Dayton City Council seat on Wednesday, July 24.
The seat was vacated by former council member and current Dayton Mayor Gary Louallen after he won his mayoral bid in April.
