Rhea County Republican Party Meeting (4/4) — The Rhea County Republican Party will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 4, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Rhea County Republican Party Headquarters, located at 1359 Railroad St. in Dayton. The executive committee will not meet prior to the regular meeting.
Frazier Volunteer Fire Department Chili/Hot Dog Meal and Auction Fundraiser (4/6) — The Frazier Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual chili/hot dog meal and auction on Saturday, April 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Frazier Elementary School. Looking Back Spring 2013 Antique Tractor Show (4/6) — The Looking Back Spring 2013 Antique Tractor Show will be held at the Grandview Community Center on Wassom Memorial Hwy. atop Grandview Mountain on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A swap meet, craft vendors and live music will be available. Free Parenting Class (4/11 & 25) — A free parenting class will be held on Thursday, April 11, and Thursday, April 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bright Beginnings Academy, located at 861 Manufacturers Road in Dayton. The “Building Blocks for Parents” class is sponsored by First Things First in partnership with The Rhea County United Way and Bright Beginnings Academy. Rise Up Youth Conference (4/12-13) — Women’s Care Center’s The Edge and High Impact Teens have partnered to host the First Annual Rise Up Youth Conference on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Spring City Middle School Gymnasium. The conference will include former UT Volunteer football star Inky Johnson for a special two-night book signing and autograph event. Friday night will feature a musical performance by Red Letter Disciple. Dreams of Kings will perform on Saturday. Cost of the event will be $5. Concessions will be available. Eric Layne Memorial Open Car Show (4/13) — The Second Annual Open Car Show in memory of Eric Layne will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Point Park in Dayton. Trophies, dash plaques, food, music and door prizes will be available. Tickets will be sold for a reproduction of an antique gas globe lamp and a Nine West pocket book. Proceeds will go to the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Fourth Annual Dennis Whittaker Memorial Scavenger Hunt (4/13) — The Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission will host the Fourth Annual Dennis Whittaker Memorial Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, April 13, beginning at 8:30 a.m. with team registration at the City Hall Building in Spring City. Entry fee for each team is $30 and team membership is limited to the number of people that can fit into the team vehicle safely (secured with seat belts). Teams will return to the City Hall Building with their hunt lists by 5 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to first through third place winners.
