A petition to place a package liquor sales referendum on the upcoming April ballot for the Dayton municipal election failed to receive enough valid signatures to place the measure on the ballot.
Rhea County Administrator of Elections Theresa Snyder said during an election commission meeting on Monday that the petition was turned in but failed to receive enough signatures.
