RCHS quartet named All-District  Pictured are Rhea County’s Nick McWherter, left, and Jalen Smith. Both were recently selected to the All-District 5-AAA team and Smith was also named player of the year. Smith led the team in scoring with 608 points on the season and averaged 22.5 points per game, while McWherter was second-leading scorer and averaged 14.2 points per game and tallied 385 for the season. McWherter was also named the District 5-AAA All-Tournament team.
Author: Ernie Harris Four members of the Rhea County High School basketball teams recently received several District 5-AAA honors, which included player of the year, All-District, All-Tournament and coaches nominated for coach of the year.
