Former animal shelter volunteer charged with animal cruelty

Dogs locked in cages with no food or water. Cages covered in
feces, blood and diarrhea. Dogs digging under fences in an attempt to reach food.
Those were
the scenes discovered by the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department [RCSD] while executing a search
warrant at Save My Tail Animal Rescue in Evensville on Thursday, according to law enforcement
officials.
After reviewing conditions at the rescue, Rhea County Sheriff Mike Neal said the
department had no choice but to arrest rescue owner Richard Orlowske and charge him with animal
cruelty.
