Virginia Louise Green, 89, of Dayton, died Monday Feb. 11, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Rhea County.  She was born May 15, 1923 in Oliver Springs, Tenn. to the late Patrick and Josephine Cummings. 


A resident of Dayton for the past 46 years, she was a homemaker and loved cats.  She attended Calvary Baptist Church.


Virginia is survived by her four sons, Mel (Meshell) Green of Dayton, Steve (Linda) Green of York Springs, Penn., Ronnie (Charlotte) Green of Greeneville, Tenn. and Kenny Green of Newport, Tenn.; two daughters, Joyce Knapik of Winchester, Tenn. and Liz (Bruce) Drake of Pleasantview, Tenn.; sister, Anne Sullivan of Dayton; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Funeral services for Virginia will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Vanderwall Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Talley officiating.  She will be laid to rest Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
