Plans to study the feasibility of constructing a jail in downtown Dayton stalled in a county finance committee on Wednesday after the measure failed to garner enough support to bring the issue to a vote.
Rhea County Commissioner and budget committee member Bill Hollin proposed the committee send out requests for qualifications to various construction and architectural firms that could study the downtown site. However, Hollin’s motion died for lack of a second.
