After struggling through a rugged schedule at the start of a new year that included teams such as McCallie, Meigs, Ocoee and Cleveland, the Rhea Central Elementary School (RCES) basketball clubs swept the visiting Chargers of Chattanooga Christian Middle in makeup games on Saturday, with the Lady Yellow Jackets winning 35-6 and the Jackets grabbing a 36-17 victory.
Inclement weather on Jan. 17 caused the games against Chilhowie to be cancelled but the RCES teams will make them up at home on Thursday, Jan. 31, with junior varsity action beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The RCES teams will conclude their season at the Webb School of Knoxville on Saturday, Feb. 2, with both squads playing a couple of games apiece, with action beginning at 11:30 a.m.
