Local youth crowned POA champion

In just her first year of showing, 7-year-old Bethany Sims, daughter of Jason and Denise Sims of Rhea County, attended the Tennessee Pony of the Americas (POA) Club banquet on Saturday, Jan. 5, in Lebanon, Tenn., where she received many awards.

Bethany and her pony named Driftwoods Fair Fanny won Highpoint Lead-line Costume, Highpoint Lead-line Performance, Highpoint Lead-line Equitation, and Highpoint Trail 18-and-under, which had never been won by a lead-liner.
