Sheriff scolds commission for downtown jail option

The Rhea County Commission moved forward with plans to build a new jail in downtown Dayton on Saturday even though Rhea County Sheriff Mike Neal warned commissioners that there now may not be enough money to build it.
“We’ve done this over and over and over. You’ve voted to do nothing again,” Neal told commissioners. “There’s no money to build it.”
