County officials in dispute over fuel cards

At a county commission meeting on Tuesday, Rhea County Executive George Thacker questioned the use of 450 fuel cards by nearly 200 county employees; however, Rhea County Road Supervisor and finance committee chair Tommy Snyder said on Thursday those estimates could be inaccurate.

“We have 450 fuel cards assigned to county employees,” Thacker told commissioners. “But we only have 200 employees. How come we have 450 fuel cards? You need to look at that.”
