After a state lawmaker in the Tennessee House of Representatives introduced legislation on Friday that could allow teachers to carry guns in classrooms, Rhea County elected officials said on Tuesday that they would need to examine the legislation closer before advocating its use in Rhea County schools.
State Rep. Eric Watson, R-Cleveland, introduced a bill that would allow school districts to decide whether or not they want to allow teachers to carry concealed weapons in the classroom.
