As a new year begins, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is reminding area residents that plans are in place in the event of an emergency situation at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.

According to information included in a 2013 calendar containing emergency information, a Prompt Notification System is in place to alert those in the area if an incident at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant occurs.  This system was established by TVA, the state of Tennessee and emergency management agencies in Rhea, Meigs and McMinn counties.
