Local hunting duo head west to claim elk

The elk is one of the largest species of deer in the world, and one of the largest land mammals in North America and eastern Asia where their weights can range between 600 to 1300 pounds.

Two Rhea County residents recently took a trip to Daniel, Wyo., in attempts to conquer the great mammal.
