New Year's Eve checkpoints yield 12 arrests  Above, sheriff's deputies check vehicles through a sobriety checkpoint on Rhea County Highway south of Spring City on New Year's Eve on Monday night.
Author: Reed Johnson Deputies with the Rhea County Sheriff's Department [RCSD] arrested 12 individuals during New Year's Eve checkpoints for a variety of charges ranging from driving under the influence to driving without a license.
RCSD Corporal Aaron Loden with the traffic and school resource division coordinated the operation and said checkpoints were set up at three locations along Rhea County Highway on New Year's Eve. For further details, see the Thursday edition of The Herald-News.
