With the opening of two new school schools in August 2013, the Rhea County School Board approved a 2013-14 school year calendar that allows different grades to start on different days in an effort to allow students to get familiar with the lay out of the new schools at a recent board meeting.
Most current fifth-grade through 11th-grade students in Rhea County will be at a new school once the new Rhea County High School and the remodeled Rhea County Middle School, which is the current high school, opens August 2013.
