Approximately 160 students are expected to receive their
degrees in Bryan's fall commencement Dec. 14.
The service will be held in Rudd Auditorium on
the Bryan campus beginning at 7:30 p.m. Academic Vice President Dr. Bradford Sample said,
“Graduation is a special time for the graduates and their families, and a special time for the
faculty and administration as well. Since so many of the fall graduates are students in the School
of Adult and Graduate Studies they have studied at satellite facilities, so this is an opportunity
to have them on campus and get a glimpse of what our traditional students
experience.”
Speaker for the ceremony will be Dr. Glynn Stone, Jr., senior pastor of
Mobberly Baptist Church of Longview, Texas. Dr. Stone is a 1995 graduate of Bryan College with a
B.A. degree in biblical studies. He received his Ph.D. in evangelism from the Roy Fish School of
Evangelism and Missions at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has studied church history
at Regents Park College, Oxford University in England. He has taught at Dallas Baptist University,
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Shorter University and has served churches in Georgia,
Texas and Tennessee.
Graduates and their families will be honored at a reception in the
college dining hall following graduation.
