The head volunteer at the Rhea County Animal Shelter has been let go by the sheriff's department after an alleged confrontation with a dog owner and a possible violation of state law, according to law enforcement officials.

On Saturday, Dec. 1, sheriff's deputies responded to call from head animal shelter volunteer Richard Orloswke who told dispatchers that a man and woman were blocking the entrance to the shelter after they learned their dog was adopted from the shelter, according to a central dispatch report.
