DCS recognized as healthier school

Dayton City School was recognized earlier this month as one of eight school districts to achieve the Bronze Level in the Healthier Schools Challenge Awards Program. The program was offered by the Tennessee School Board Association in partnership with the State Department of Education's Office of Coordinated School Health and included 132 school systems in Tennessee. Pictured above, from left to right, are Scott Bowers, president of United Healthcare; Bob Vincent, DCS School Board chairman; Billy Graham, DCS School Board member; Kim Travis, DCS Coordinated School Health director; Rebecca Johns-Wommack, executive director of the Tennessee Coordinated School Health Department and Sara Smith, state coordinator for the Tennessee Coordinated School Health Department.
