The Spring City Chamber of Commerce decided that one grand marshal was not enough and named the entire Spring City Middle School [SCMS] football team as grand marshal of the 49th Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Jim Reed, president of the Spring City Chamber, said the choice of the football team as the grand marshal was an easy one.

"We are very excited about having the [SCMS] football team as our grand marshal and celebrate what they have achieved this year," Reed told The Herald-News in a telephone interview Monday.
