A jury of six women and six men found State Rep. Jim Cobb, R-Spring City, not guilty of assault on Tuesday.

The jury returned the not guilty verdict, acquitting the lawmaker of an assault charge stemming from an Aug. 2 election day incident at the Frazier polling location.

"The verdict speaks for itself," Cobb said after the trial.
