At the Chattanooga Cross-Country League meet held at Baylor School on Thursday, the Golden Eagles finished solid, with the girls placing seventh and the boys placing 11th out of 31 schools.
Madalyn Garland was the top finisher for the Lady Eagles once again, placing second overall with a time of 20:21.05 and just 18 seconds behind the leader. Kierstynn Conley and Gloria Pascual also finished in the top 50, with times of 21:54.47 and 23:11.31 respectively. Lorena Pascual followed, placing 54th out of 164 runners, while Davinity Tallent (74th), Morgan Bodle (86th) and Emily Thurman (87th) rounded out the Lady Eagle roster.
Zach Gibson was the only Eagle to place in the top 50 for the RCHS boys, finishing 49th out of 218 runners with a time of 19:10.05. Zach Smith (60th), Devon Johnson (61st) and L.T. Miller (74th) finished in the top 100, while Tanner Layne finished 103rd, Brandon Crowe 111th and Cody Johnson 145th for the Eagles.
The Golden Eagles will compete next in the Chattanooga Cross-Country League Meet at the Greenway Farm course in Hixson on Tuesday. The race is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
