Dayton Chamber Golf Tourney planned for Aug. 25 at
The Dayton Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament will hold its annual golf
tournament on Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Dayton Golf and Country Club.
Lunch will be provided
starting at noon, catered by Moe's Southwestern Grill, and music will be provided by WDNT/WRHA
The $60 per person entry fee makes participants eligible to win a new 37-inch TV from
Aaron's, a La-Z-Boy recliner and a $100 savings bond form Community National Bank that are
guaranteed to be given out before the start, as well as other prizes and awards after the round is

DGSA to hold meeting on Aug. 25
The Dayton Girls Softball Association will be holding yearly elections for board members for
the 2011 softball year at the next board meeting.

League holds playoffs
Playoffs were underway this week for the Dayton Industrial Golf League.
On Tuesday in the quarterfinals, RBA Construction defeated City of Dayton 8.5-7.5, Robinson
Manufacturing bested Middle Tennessee Natural Gas 3 to -6, Today's Dental beat Bryan College 20-8
and Spring City Boat Dock moved past Suburban Manufacturing 5-1.
The highest score was
garnered by City of Dayton's Robin Cooley at 20 points, and J.R. Richardson of Today's Dental was
most over quota at plus-seven.
In Wednesday's semifinals, RBA Construction beat Robinson's
5.5-4.5, and Spring City Boat Dock bested Today's Dental 15-6.
The highest score came from
Daniel Lytle (Spring City Boat Dock) at 21 points, while David Lytle (Spring City Boat Dock) was
most over quota at plus-six.
The championship final is scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at
the Dayton Golf and Country Club. There will be an award ceremony and steak dinner to follow, and
all league players are encouraged to attend.
Lady Head Hunters hold tryouts starting Aug.
The Dayton 7- and 8-year-old girls' softball Lady Head Hunters will be holding tryouts

YMCA Flag Football tourney slated for Sept.
The Rhea Family YMCA will be holding an adult flag-football tournament Saturday and Sunday,
Sept. 4 and 5. There is an eight-player minimum, $100 registration fee and three-game guarantee.
Teams can choose to play five-man, 50-yard no contact or eight-man 100-yard flag football. Pool play
will be on Saturday with single elimination starting on Sunday. There will be a rules and coaches

YMCA to host Funky Monkey Night Race
annual Funky Monkey Night Race is slated for Friday, Sept. 17, at the Rhea Family YMCA on Fourth
