RMS softball tryouts dates changed to August

Tryouts will be held Aug. 2, 3 and 4 for the Rhea Middle School softball team at the Rhea County High School softball field from 5 to 7 p.m.  and will be closed to parents.

Upcoming sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders from Dayton City, Spring City Middle and Rhea Central Elementary schools are invited. They must bring a current physical to the first day of tryouts.

"Please read sports announcements in the paper for changes," Head Coach Michelle McCuistion said.

Those trying out are asked to wear comfortable clothing and cleats, in addition to bringing a glove, bat and helmet, if they have these items.

Tryouts will consist of throwing, catching, running and hitting. Student must pass for the 2009-2010 year to play school ball for the 2010 season and is requested to bring a copy of her final grade card.

If players are on a travel team, they cannot practice or play with the travel team until school ball is over.  Contact McCuistion at 605-8340 for more information.
