The Rhea County High School Golden Eagle wrestling team said farewell to more than just their 12th graders in Saturday's senior night match with Cleveland High School.

They also said goodbye to a four-game winning streak, falling to the Raiders 69-12.
Rhea County's only wins came by forfeit at 152 and 171 pounds, though several Eagles had close matches.

Quinton Carter (135 lbs.) took his Cleveland opponent Aaron Lopez to double overtime, but lost by a 7-2 decision.

At 140 lbs., Cam Wilkey nearly staved off a pin by Javier Francisco in the second period, but finally succumbed with 1.9 seconds remaining.

Heavyweight Christian McPherson also got pinned just before the buzzer at the 1:59-mark of the first period.

The Golden Eagles were slated to take on McMinn County, McMinn Central and Kingston in a four-way match on Tuesday, but results were not available at press time.

The match marked the final home contest for seniors Quinton Carter, Nic Fuller, Connor Lingerfelt, Brandon Riggle and Kahana Sizemore, though Carter was the only one to actually wrestle, due to illness and injury.

Their next match will be Friday's Region Duals though a location and time has yet to be announced.
