House fire on Kelly Lane

FIRE ON KELLY LANE Firefighters from the Dayton, Graysville and Kiuka fire departments worked to extinguish a structure fire on Kelly Lane behind Dayton's Advance Auto Parts store Friday. The Dayton Fire Department responded to a report of a large, garage-type building engulfed in flames at 5:36 p.m., approximately four minutes after the time of the call. Norfolk Southern Railway was notified of the water supply line that was temporarily strung across the tracks, and rail traffic was suspended for 20 minutes. One of the building's owners, Ann Finley, said the building contained antique furniture and other items, according to the fire report. (Herald-News photo by Michelle Friesen)
