The old adage that teams can live and die by the 3-pointer rang true for the White County Warriors as they drained 13 treys on their way to defeating the Rhea County High School Eagles 70-31 in the District 6-AAA opener for both teams in Sparta on Friday.
Kordell Henderson (24) and Cade Crosland (16) combined for nine of the made 3-pointers and 40 points for White County and frustrated the Eagles all night.
The Eagles fell behind early as the Warriors opened the scoring with a Crosland dunk and then hit four of their 3-pointers in the first quarter and claimed a 23-5 lead headed to the second period.
