After losing the first game of the season, the Rhea County High School Lady Eagles’ basketball team has rattled off five wins in a row and improved to 5-1 with its most recent 51-31 win over the Soddy-Daisy Lady Trojans on Tuesday.
Rhea’s Amber Levi led all scorers and dropped in five of her total 25 points in the opening quarter to help the Lady Eagles get to an 11-5 lead headed to the second period.
The Lady Eagles didn’t let up, as they outscored Soddy-Daisy 18-8 in the second quarter, using effective rebounds and steals from Shelby Thurman, Katie Loden, Jessee Wallis, Kelsey Miles and Levi. Julie Brown had a blocked shot in the middle of the Rhea run, and the Lady Eagles led 29-13 at the break.
