A $500,000 Community Development Block Grant [CDBG] awarded Monday by the state for a water tank project was critical for Dayton, according to city personnel.
“We applied last year for the grant, and we desperately need this,” City Manager Frank Welch said at the City Council’s monthly meeting Monday. “This year we got lucky because we got a lot of rain, but if we hadn’t, we would have had to get water from other sources.”
