At each home Rhea County High School football and basketball game between now and December 21, you can find the Lady Eagle Basketball Booth/table and see the donated NFL jerseys and make a donation to Lady Eagle Basketball. Each donation will give you an opportunity to win one of the jerseys. The winners of the jerseys will be announced during the final night of the Eagle Holiday Hoops Tournament on Saturday, December 21, between the girls’ and boys’ championship games. You do not have to be present to win. NFL jerseys include Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Ben Roethlisberger.
The Rhea Elementary Basketball League is currently looking for coaches that want to teach basketball fundamentals and help sow into the lives of children. If you are potentially interested in this tremendous opportunity contact Tony Williams 423-368-5377. This will be for 2nd-5th grade boys and girls.
Rhea Elementary Basketball will be taking online applications for this basketball season until Monday Oct. 7 for boys and girls in Kindergarten-5th-grade. Go to www.rheagreenwave.com to register at your convenience. You can also register your child at Rhea Middle School Monday Sept. 30, or Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the gym. Rhea County High School JROTC Alumni Association will hold a golf tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Tennessee Hills Golf Club. It is an eighteen-hole select shot starting at 3 p.m. EST. There will be a shotgun start. Spaces for eleven foursomes are available. Cost is $300 per team or $75 per player. Prizes will be awarded. For more information, call 423-447-7711.
The Upward Sports Program of Dayton is seeking volunteers for the 2013-14 season for basketball and cheerleading. Upward needs coaches, referees and other support personnel.
Upward Sports Program teaches sports skills and values, offers family friendly schedules and provides a positive approach to sports.

Upward Sports will hold a one-day basketball clinic for ages 5-12 years old, on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dayton First Baptist Church, located at 231 Third Avenue.
