In the most decisive win in the series' history between the Rhea County High School Eagles' football team and the Red Bank Lions, Rhea did not let the visitors spoil homecoming festivities by shutting them down, then shutting them out 44-0.
The Eagles led 35-0 at the break and kept the Lions in check the remainder of the game, converting several turnovers for points throughout the game. Rhea improved to 4-1 on the season and will travel to Cookeville on Friday, Oct. 4, for a huge, District 6-AAA matchup, which could decide the district championship.
