Friends of Audrey Pack Memorial Library Meeting (9/11) — The Friends of the Audrey Pack Memorial Library in Spring City will hold their next monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. in the library conference room. Plans will be finalized for the Community Yard Sale and Bake Sale that will be held on Oct. 5. Interested yard-salers are encouraged to pre-register at the library for booth space.

Graysville Fall Festival Pageant Deadline (9/13) — The deadline for the 2013 Graysville Fall Festival Pageant is Sept. 13. Cancer Survivor Brunch (9/14) — A Celebrate Life Survivors Brunch will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon at First United Methodist Church, located on Market Street in Dayton. Cancer survivors and caregivers are invited to attend this brunch in their honor. Evensville Fire Dept. & Rhea County Sheriff’s Dept. Mud Bog (9/14) — The Evensville Fire Department and Rhea County Sheriff’s Department will be hold a Mud Bog, Saturday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. at the C & H Arena in Evensville. Admission at the gate is $5 for age 10 to adult, $3 for ages 4 to 9 and free for ages 3 and under. No alcohol beverages will be allowed.
Walden’s Ridge Fall Festival (9/14) — The annual Walden’s Ridge Fall Festival will be held Sat., Sept. 14, beginning at 7 a.m. with coffee and pastries. Activities include old-fashioned sorgum molasses made on site, a yard sale, music, crafts, jewelry, a quilt show, a raffle, cake walks, a snack bar and more.

Benefit for Landon (9/21) — A benefit for Landon will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Spring City Nature Park (the new walking park on the depot side of town). The benefit will include an auction, gospel singing and a fresh fish fry with all the fixin’s. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs. Proceeds will go towards the medical and funeral expenses of Landon Robbins and to help with continuing care of his younger siblings. Grandview “Looking Back” Fall 2013 Antique Tractor Show (9/21) — The Grandview Community Club is inviting everyone to the “Looking Back” Fall 2013 Antique Tractor Show at the Grandview Community Center, located on Wassom Memorial Highway atop Grandview Mountain, on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to Antique Tractors: Demonstrations of the Past, other events that will be held are a swap meet, craft vendors, live music and contests for all ages. Fly-In, Drive-In Breakfast (9/28) — The Civil Air Patrol will host a breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mark Anton Municipal Airport on Saturday, Sept. 28. The all-you-can-eat cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The event will be held rain or shine.
Benefit Concert for Matthew Wilson (9/28) — There will be a benefit concert for Matthew Wilson and his family on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Park in downtown Dayton. Concert is free, but donations will be accepted. Appearing at the concert will be Danny Shirley of Confederate Railroad, Roger Alan Wade, The Other Guys band and Carrie Hassler. Matthew was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis Disease several months ago.
Great Punkin Chase 5k Run/1 Mile Walk (10/5) — Chapter 942 of Vietnam Veterans of America present the 1st Annual Soddy-Daisy Great Punkin Chase 5k and 1 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Soddy-Daisy North Park. The $20 per bike poker run will benefit the Soddy Daisy Health Care and Life Care Center of Rhea County nursing homes.
