The Lady Eagles' soccer team of Rhea County High School opened up its season at home on Tuesday with a 1-1 tie against the Chattanooga Central Lady Purple Pounders.
The first half saw the Lady Eagles and the Lady Purple Pounders battling for possession, but Rhea would win the battle and go up 1-0 in the 19th minute, when sophomore Hailey Shelby ripped a shot from 20 yards out. Central�s goalkeeper got a hand on the ball but couldn�t stop it from hitting the back of the net. The Lady Eagles went into h~lftime with the lead.
