The Bass Master Weekend Series Super Tournament will be held at the Dayton Boat Dock, on Lake Chickamauga on Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25.
Takeoff will be at 6:45 a.m./safelight and weigh-ins for both days will be at 3 p.m.

The Dayton Youth Baseball signups for fall ball will be held every Saturday in August at the Jim Barnes Baseball Complex on Market Street in Dayton, from 10 a.m. to noon. The signup is for ages 5-and-up and the fee is $30.
On Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Dayton Girls’ Softball Association [DGSA] will host a free 6U and 8U clinic at Voight and Riggs fields. DGSA will host a fall tournament on Sept. 6 and 7. Registration for teams will be $40 and first and second place teams will receive team trophies. 6U and 8U will get participation awards. The Rhea Family YMCA is now taking registrations for the Fall Youth Soccer League for ages 3-13. A coaches’ meeting will be held on Aug.15, at 6 p.m. and a parents meeting will be on Aug. 19, at 6 p.m.
Practices will begin on Aug. 27, and games will start on Sept. 7 and will run through the end of the season on Oct. 26. For more information contact the Rhea Family YMCA at 423-775-0821.
The Rhea County United Way will host the Fish the Chick Bass Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 31, beginning at 6:30 a.m., with weigh-ins beginning at 3 p.m. Anglers will launch out of the Dayton Boat Dock on Lake Chickamauga.
The tournament is open to men and women anglers and the entry fee is $50 per boat, with a $10 per boat Big Fish Award pot (optional). Early registration by Aug. 23, includes: Entry fee and Fish the Chick tee shirt.
First place prize is $1,000, to be awarded to the top finishing boat. A Day at the Spa, provided by Expressions, will be awarded to the top lady angler.

The Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation is gearing up for the 8th Annual Timothy Morrow Memorial Golf Tournament scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, at the Dayton Golf & Country Club. Funds raised from this event will be used to support the healthcare of Rhea County through the provision of state-of-the-art equipment, programs and services delivered through Rhea Medical Center.
Following a delicious breakfast and/or luncheon, golfers will take to the links where several hole-in-one prizes await. There will be very special prizes for the top three winning teams, longest drive, straightest drive and closest to the pin.
“This is always a great event,” said chairman Butch Morrow. “There are a number of ways to show your support. You could enter a team, become a sponsor or provide a prize. We would certainly appreciate any assistance you were willing to provide.” For more information, call 423-775-8580.
Dayton Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Classic to be held at the Dayton Golf and Country Club on Sept. 18, with lunch at 12 p.m. and a 1 p.m. tee off. The fee for the four person select shot team is $240, hole sponsorship is $60, team mulligans (eight per team) will be $40 and shooting from the red tees is $40 (eight per team). Teams can save $30 when all of the above four options are purchased.
All proceeds go to Rhea County Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Fund. Every participant will receive a goody bag and prizes will be presented to the first, second and third-place finishers.
