Brother Clyde Fitzgerald has announced his retirement from Yellow Creek Baptist Church. After pastoring local churches for years, Brother Clyde will no longer serve one church but will continue to be available for weddings and funerals, and will be visiting hospitals and nursing homes to bring human comfort and God’s love to all he meets. He will also be available as a supply pastor to give other pastors an occasional day off.
Anyone wishing to hear Brother Clyde’s farewell sermon, the service at Yellow Creek Baptist Church will be on Sunday, Aug. 25. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. and worship service starts at 11 a.m.
There will be a covered dish lunch following the service. Those wishing to join Brother Clyde and his wife, Joyce, at this meal, are asked to bring their favorite dish and come to the fellowship hall at the back of the church. There will be a special time after the meal for singing and sharing of memories of Brother Clyde’s service in the ministry.
Delegations from other churches that he has served are welcome as well as individuals who have been touched by Brother Clyde’s work. For more information, call 365-5618.
