Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: . . . so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off (Nehemiah 12:43).
For the last eight weeks now our lesson material has been in Ezra and Nehemiah. It has focused on the rebuilding of the temple and the wall of Jerusalem. While this may not be among the favorite subjects of most Bible students, it is, however helpful and not without purpose.
