The Rhea County School Board extended Rhea County Director of Schools Jerry Levengood's contract and gave him a 2 percent raise at the board's regular monthly meeting on Thursday.
There was much discussion on whether to extend the contract one year or two years, and board member Dale Harris voiced his strong support for a raise and one-year extension so another raise could be considered next year.
